Are you tired of having to deal with flooding in your house all the time? There are many ways of dealing with this problem yourself without getting any outside help. DIY flood prevention measures are simple, and they will help you save time, money and your house as well.

If your house gets flooded every time it rains, you should create a waterway leading away from your house. When you do this, you will prevent water from flowing into your house during the rainy season. If the flooding is caused by a faulty pipe or gutter, you can fix the problem by unclogging it. Clean your gutter regularly to remove any dirt, leaves, twigs or small stones which might cause flooding if they get stuck in there.

You can also prevent flooding in your home by making sure that all the taps are closed after you use them. You should also fix any leaking roofs and pipes inside the house.

The problem with your creaky door is merely oiling. One of the things that you need to use in order to deal with this problem once and for all is petroleum-based oil. Once you have got this lubricant in your hand, the first step is to spray it on the hinges of your door. Keep opening and closing the door severally. In case the squeaky voice won’t end, try applying the lubricant while the door is only partially closed.

You will notice that the creaky sound will have ended. Alternatively, make use of elbow grease. In this case, you have to remove each of the hinges’ pins. Then, clean both the pins and hinges using a cloth. After that, lubricate the hinges inside before replacing the pins. Do the same thing to all the other hinges. After trying to open and close the door a few times, the creaky should be there no more.
