First you have to measure the width of the window and determine the desired length of the valance which should be fifteen inches deep or longer if you have a wider window.

Measure the desired width on the fabric and add two inches for the hems. Measure in doubles as it will b folded. Put pins down the length of material and keep fabric facing down. The pins assist in sewing a straight line. Stitch the hems and turn fabric inside out and sew. Measure one and a half inches from the line sewed after you are done you can slide in the rod and hung.
