You can sew simple curtains for your house or even as a present to a friend or family member. You don’t necessarily have to be a professional sewer in order to be able to do this. A two sided curtain is the best way to begin. First you need to measure the window you are making the curtain for. Get twice the amount of material for the horizontal measurements and add eight inches to the vertical measurements.

Get the material which you need in the color of your preference as curtains can be made out of any material. Wash your material to avoid shrinkage and cut it into the appropriate measurements. Pin the material to hold it in place and sew the pieces with seam flat so that there are no winkles. Poke out the corners when you are pressing to have a sharp and clean look. Pin the hems and sew them too. When you are through you can hang your new attractive curtains.
